A Patient-Centered Approach
Mental health care should begin with listening. Every person's symptoms, experiences, goals, and circumstances are different. For this reason, the practice emphasizes individualized evaluation and care rather than applying a standard approach to every patient.
The purpose of an initial conversation is to understand what is bringing you to the practice and determine what type of professional support may be appropriate.
Dr. Gary Penny's Experience
With 34 years of experience, Dr. Gary Penny offers an established background in mental health care. This experience supports a thoughtful approach to evaluation, diagnosis, psychiatric care, medication management, and determining when additional professional services may be beneficial.
Experience is important, but so is the ability to understand the individual sitting across from you. The practice combines professional knowledge with personalized attention.
Understanding Your Concerns
Depression and other mental health concerns can influence many areas of life. Changes in motivation, mood, sleep, concentration, relationships, or daily functioning may create challenges that are difficult to manage alone.
Professional evaluation creates an opportunity to discuss these concerns openly and determine whether depression or another mental health issue may be contributing to what you are experiencing.
Individualized Treatment Planning
There is no single treatment path that works for every person. Depending on the evaluation and individual circumstances, care may include counseling, psychiatric services, medication management, or another appropriate approach.
Individualized care plans allow the practice to focus on the patient's specific needs rather than relying on a predetermined treatment model.
Professional Guidance and Referrals
Not every mental health concern is best addressed by the same provider. When another mental health professional or specialty service is more appropriate, referrals may be recommended.
Appropriate referrals can help patients connect with additional resources while keeping their individual needs at the center of the process.
A Private Practice Environment
As a private practice, the focus remains on individualized professional care and the relationship between the patient and provider. Patients can discuss their concerns in a professional setting designed around their care needs.
Begin a Conversation
Taking the first step can be difficult, especially when you are uncertain about what type of support you need. You do not have to determine the right treatment before contacting the practice.
